Charter Member Indiana Association of Professional Investigators.

We receive several telephone calls each week with one simple question, "How
do I become a private detective?" The answer is not an easy answer. I would suggest a career in law enforcement as that will
give you the investigative training that you need. If that it not an option to you, then you must find a professional investigator
willing to train you. This means long hours and dedication to a career. You must sell your positive points and how they will
help the investigative business. Business owners have various types of investigations and are always looking for people with
knowledge in specific subjects. That is why you want to sell your knowledge, hobbies and life experiences.
You can be the best investigator around but fail in business. For that reason I would suggest that you take business type
studies. If you just want to work for someone else and not own a business, then this will not apply to you. That is the short
answer and we wish you good luck.
